Chelsea failed to get better of Manchester City in the semi-final round of the FA Cup despite having more days to recover. Their last defeat has snatched away the hopes of lifting at least one trophy in the ongoing awful campaign.

The Blues will next lock horns with Arsenal in the Premier League this week. They are ninth in the points table and are unlikely to extract something out of it. Hence, they will play for pride and try to implement strategies for the next season.

Defence

Djordje Petrovic made some good saves against Manchester City to help his side. He should be operating between the sticks once again. No change in the right-back position as Malo Gusto continues to be deployed there.

The centre-back duo of Trevoh Chalobah and Thiago Silva should also remain intact for this clash. Levi Colwill is inching towards regaining full fitness but will not be able to make it into the squad. Marc Cucurella is likely to be retained for the left full-back spot.

Midfield

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez are the holding midfielders in the lineup. However, they need to step up and take more control in the midfield.

While Conor Gallagher should be fielded on the left wing, Cole Palmer continues operating in the middle. The latter has been in terrific form and will be a key man for the Blues against the Gunners. For the right flank, Noni Madueke is expected to get the nod ahead of Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Attack

Who knows Chelsea could’ve beaten Manchester City in the semi-final only if Nicolas Jackson had converted a few of numerous chances. He looked sluggish in the final third and failed to find the back of the net. The club will desperately look to sign alternatives in the summer.
