América have been boosted by the news that Nicolás Benedetti will be available for their Liguilla quarter-final next weekend.
The Colombia midfielder has endured a nightmare 2020.
He suffered a serious knee injury while on international duty during Olympic qualifying back in February, before then needing medial meniscus surgery after making his long-awaited comeback to first-team action last month.
It has been reported that Benedetti is back in training with Las Águilas, and ESPN claims that Miguel Herrera and his backroom team are planning to have him in their squad, although the former former Deportivo Cali man is likely to be on the bench to start.
The Azulcrema must wait for results from this weekend’s first round of play-off games before they learn who their quarter-final opponents will be.
