One of the most talented footballers that América have is, without a doubt, Colombian midfielder Nicolás Benedetti.
Unfortunately for América, injuries have prevented him from playing regularly and having a continuous impact on the club.
Benedetti suffered a cruel ACL tear back in February on international duty and was expected to miss up to eight months.
América continue to hope that Benedetti will be available for the second half of the season and has now received the best news since the injury.
On Monday, Benedetti received his official medical discharge, meaning that he will return to the training ground this week and gradually increase his workload.
In fact, many believe that Benedetti could come off the bench to feature against Monterrey this Saturday, which would be an extraordinary accomplishment in itself.
The 23-year-old has only appeared 25 times since arriving from Deportivo Cali in January 2019, scoring six goals and adding an assist.
