Como talent Nico Paz admits he ‘really wants to continue’ in Serie A, but worries Real Madrid by confessing his dream is to play alongside Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.

The 20-year-old was a product of the Real Madrid youth academy and joined Como last summer for €6m.

However, the Spanish giants hold 50 per cent of his future sale fee, or can buy him back for between €9-11m from the summer of 2025 to 2027.

“It was a big change for me, as at Real Madrid I had played in the lower leagues and youth teams,” Nico Paz told the official Como website.

“It was a very difficult change to make, but also a wonderful one. I am adapting and really want to continue.”

He has impressed in Serie A this season with six goals and seven assists in 30 appearances under coach Cesc Fabregas.

As part of the interview alongside Como teammate Assane Diao, Nico Paz was asked to name the dream player he’d like to work with, but the response was a little surprising.

“I was fortunate enough to already play at Real Madrid, the best club in the world, and to do it alongside people like Vinicius and Jude Bellingham. If I had to name another now, I’d say Lamine Yamal, he is among the best in the world.”

Considering Yamal plays for Real Madrid’s arch-rivals Barcelona, it is an unexpected choice for the Argentina international.

Another dream has already come true, because he was in the same team as fellow countryman Lionel Messi.

“That was the best moment of my life so far. It was incredible, playing with the best in history. I am so happy and grateful to have experienced this moment,” confessed Nico Paz.
