Speaking to the DPA (via @iMiaSanMia), Nick Woltemade’s agent, Danny Bachmann, has questioned VfB Stuttgart after they rejected another offer for the striker.

Earlier this week, Bayern Munich made another offer for Woltemade which was worth €55m. The offer was subsequently rejected by Stuttgart as they continue to ask for at least €80m.

On the rejection, Bachmann said:

“When a Bundesliga record offer of €55 million isn’t even enough for a face-to-face meeting, the question arises as to what VfB actually considers ‘extraordinary’. This was unforeseeable.”

As is repeatedly suggested, Stuttgart have no reason to sell to Bayern. Despite a verbal agreement being reached between Woltemade and Bayern, the striker’s contract does not expire until 2028. This means that Stuttgart can continue to demand a high fee, especially when Hugo Ekitiké is attracting €80m bids from Premier League sides.

You can also question whether the World Cup next summer is a potential Woltemade move to Bayern in this window is beneficial to him. Staying at Stuttgart another year would be better for his development and chances of making the squad before leaving next summer, while VfB could then demand a high fee if he performs well again.
