RMC Sport are reporting that OGC Nice have reached an agreement with FC Lorient manager Régis Le Bris to replace Didier Digard in the dugout at the Allianz Riviera.

Many names have been linked with the Nice job in recent weeks. Digard took over from Lucien Favre in early January, and despite a new-manager bounce, Les Aiglons fell away towards the end of the season, suffering a disappointing exit in the UEFA Europa Conference League and then missing out on European qualification for next season.

It, therefore, became clear that Digard, who was initially hired on an interim basis, wouldn’t take charge of the club next season. As revealed by Get French Football News in May, INEOS Director of Sport Dave Brailsford was pushing for the arrival of former Chelsea manager Graham Potter, whilst Nice’s Sporting Director Florent Ghisolfi was pushing for the arrival of Le Bris.

It now looks like the latter has won the battle, with RMC reporting that Nice have an agreement in place with Le Bris’ entourage. In his debut season with Lorient, Le Bris guided the club to a 10th-place finish in Ligue 1, whilst also getting the best out of key players such as Enzo Le Fée and Terem Moffi. Should Le Bris make the move to the Allianz Riviera, he will link up once again with the Nigerian forward.

Nice must now reach an agreement with Lorient for Le Bris’ transfer. However, the Frenchman may not come cheap given that he only extended with Les Merlus until 2027 back in March, and the club’s President Loic Féry won’t let his manager leave without a fight.
