Foot Mercato report this morning that newly-arrived Nice manager Lucien Favre has made Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Manor Solomon his priority for the transfer window, although the club face competition from Fulham.

The 22-year-old’s transfer would be facilitated by the recently-updated FIFA regulations regarding players plying their trade in Ukraine in the wake of the Russian invasion. His Portuguese passport, as a European Union citizen, would also make a transfer easier.

Les Aiglons are said to have stepped up their chase in the last few hours, with the Israeli international’s agent also being spotted in town.

The club are optimistic about getting the deal over the line and beating out the Premier League side for Solomon, whose contract with the Ukrainian team expires at the end of the 2023 calendar year.

In his three years with Shakhtar Donetsk, the midfielder has 22 goals in 106 appearances, and has been a Champions League regular. With the Israeli national team, he has 6 goals in 31 caps.
