According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 outfit are in talks with the Clarets regarding a potential loan deal for the wide player, who could be one of a number of players departing Turf Moor in the final few days of the summer transfer window.

When the season started, it looked possible that the Lancashire side were going to hold on to the vast majority of their first-team squad.

However, there have been a number of departures since their opening game against Luton Town.

Some of these exits were needed, with the Clarets having too many options in some areas, including in central defence and on the wing.

However, some fans would have preferred to have seen some of their other first-teamers leave, instead of those who were integral to the team.

The likes of Dara O'Shea and Sander Berge were key players in Lancashire but others will need to step up in their place to replace them following their moves to Ipswich Town and Fulham.

In terms of their wing area, they still have some decent options when they have all of their options fit, even with Darko Churlinov and Dara Costelloe leaving on loan and Wilson Odobert, Anass Zaroury, and Johann Berg Gudmundsson sealing permanent exits.

However, Manuel Benson has recently been linked with a move away from Turf Moor, along with Luca Koleosho, and Nathan Redmond is currently out injured.

Not only this, but Tresor could potentially seal an exit from the club before the summer window closes on August 30th.

Nice keen on Mike Tresor move

Foot Mercato believes Tresor is "coveted" by Nice and that they are attempting to get a loan deal for the player over the line.

However, the same outlet has also reported that common ground needs to be found in the coming days, which potentially suggests that an agreement isn't imminent at this stage.

The 25-year-old was loaned to the Clarets last term and a permanent option in his contract was activated.

But since then, there has been a change in manager, and an exit can't be ruled out for the player.

Tresor has made 19 appearances for the Clarets but is yet to register a single goal or assist.

With his impact limited at Turf Moor, it may be ideal for the player if he seals a temporary move away from the club.

What he won't want to happen is what's happened with Wout Weghorst.

If he isn't in the Clarets' plans in the long term, he needs to secure a permanent exit as quickly as possible and not go out on loan on numerous occasions like Weghorst has.
