Nice have confirmed that Christophe Galtier has left his position as first-team manager ahead of a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Galtier was the top managerial target of new PSG adviser Luis Campos, with the pair working together at Lille just a few years ago, and confirmation of his move to Parc des Princes is thought to be close.

The process has now sped up as Nice have confirmed the departure of Galtier, with Lucien Favre coming in to take his place.

"Christophe Galtier no longer manages the first team of OGC Nice," a statement read. "This Monday, the Aiglons' restart is led by Lucien Favre, whose return the club is proud to announce."

Nice are reported to have been waiting for PSG to reach a final agreement over the departure of their own manager, Mauricio Pochettino, before formally cutting ties with Galtier and replacing him with Favre.

Pochettino has long been aware that he will be relieved of his duties this summer and the wheels are now in motion for Galtier to come in and replace the Argentine.
