As reported by Foot Mercato OGC Nice are closing in on a deal for Lokomotiv Moscow’s defensive midfielder Alexis Beka Beka (21) after recent discussions between the two clubs have accelerated nearing the point of an agreement. L’Équipe report that the player wants to move to the French Riveria.

Earlier this month L’Équipe reported that Nice were interested in the midfielder who moved from Caen to Russia last summer in a €6m move. Since the move, Beka Beka has appeared 19 times for Loko, managing to provide four assists in the Paris-born frenchman’s first season away from France.

For SM Caen, Beka Beka made a total of 29 appearances in Ligue 2, during which he scored one goal but generally impressed in the second tier – he has continued to perform well in Russia.

Nice still only have made one signing 10 days before the start of Ligue 1, and are still looking for a goalkeeper, centre-back, a left midfielder, and at least two attacking players. Romanian winger Rares Ilie (19) from Rapid Bucarest signed for the club earlier in the summer for a fee of €5m plus bonuses – becoming the side’s first signing with a move for Mönchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer seeming to be stalling in it’s tracks.
