According to RMC Sport, N’Golo Kanté (32) is expected to be the highest-profile omission from Didier Deschamps’ France squad. The France boss is set to announce his squad for the upcoming international break on Thursday as Les Bleus prepare to face Scotland and the Netherlands.

The Al-Ittihad midfielder has been playing regularly in the Saudi Pro League but Deschamps is set to focus his attention on other midfield options for his latest squad. Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana (24) and Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara (23) are set to be preferred to the former Chelsea midfielder. Kanté has featured for Al-Ittihad 10 times since he made the switch to the Gulf State in the summer,

Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté (24) is also expected to be picked after recovering from an injury which saw him miss out during the last international break. The former Leipzig defender’s return could make the spots of Chelsea’s Axel Disasi (24) and Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo (23) vulnerable. Kylian Mbappé (24) is also expected to feature despite struggling with some injury issues since the last international break.
