Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been nominated for the prize of the best French player playing abroad.
The Evening Standard report that the Chelsea midfielder has been nominated for the annual Tropee UNFP.
Kante has had some great games this year, but after his awesome performances dragging Chelsea to a Champions League win it can only be considered a step down. In recent weeks he’s actually had some of his worst form for Chelsea, although there is a general malaise in the team.
The nominees and winners are decided by the French players’ union, who represent players from the top top divisions, as well as coaches and the referees.
Kante already has two of these awards in his back pocket – from 2017 and 2018, but he’s not going to win it this time.
Karim Benzema is set to win the Ballon d’Or, and so he’s a shoo-in to win this award too.
