The father of Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is reportedly trying everything to get his son a summer transfer to Real Madrid.
Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona in a world record €222m deal last summer but the Brazilian’s first season in France proved to be rather tumultuous and he has often been linked with a move to the Bernabéu.
There had been suggestions that new PSG boss Thomas Tuchel had managed to convince the 26-year-old to stay at the Parc des Princes but according to France Football, Madrid president Florentino Pérez is desperate to make a ‘galáctico’ signing this summer, and Neymar is his number one target.
Pérez is said to be working closely with Neymar Snr and the pair are hoping that if they put enough pressure on PSG, the Ligue 1 champions will decide to part with their most prized asset.
The Los Blancos head honcho is understood to have convinced Neymar that his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or would be much greater if he joined the European champions and the player would be open to the idea of moving.
However, Madrid may be forced to pay an astronomical transfer fee to sign the Brazil international. France Football claim PSG would demand somewhere in the region of €350m to sell to a Champions League rival, and are adamant that Neymar is not for sale anyway.
But then, Barcelona said that last summer, and we all know what happened there.
