Brazil‘s squad for the 2022 World Cup is one of the best ever assembled in the history of international football.
Tite’s side are the big favourites to win the tournament in Qatar and after taking one look at the options available to the manager, it’s very easy to see why.
Brazil’s World Cup squad is made all the more remarkable by the fact that you can create a seriously impressive XI made up of players not even on the plane later this month.
As well as being outrageously talented, Brazil’s 26-man squad earn an eye-watering amount of money each week.
Using the Capology website – and Salary Sport for those currently playing outside European parameters – we’ve worked out the wages of each Brazilian heading to Qatar.
Amazingly, 18 of the 26 players are on six-figures weekly salaries…
26. Weverton (Palmeiras) – £13,000-a-week
25. Pedro (Flamengo) – £30,000-a-week
24. Everton Ribeiro (Flamengo) – £33,000-a-week
23. Daniel Alves (UNAM) – £35,000-a-week
22. Alex Telles (Sevilla) – £69,806-a-week
21. Danilo (Juventus) – £85,877-a-week
=19. Richarlison (Tottenham Hotspur) – £90,000-a-week
=19. Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal) – £90,000-a-week
18. Ederson (Manchester City) – £100,000-a-week
17. Thiago Silva (Chelsea) – £110,000-a-week
=15. Fred (Manchester United) – £120,000-a-week
=15. Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United) – £120,000-a-week
14. Rodrygo Goes (Real Madrid) – £125,551-a-week
=12. Lucas Paqueta (West Ham United) – £150,000-a-week
=12. Alisson Becker (Liverpool) – £150,000-a-week
11. Bremer (Juventus) – £155,014-a-week
10. Eder Militao (Real Madrid) – £157,023-a-week
9. Fabinho (Liverpool) – £180,000-a-week
8. Alex Sandro (Juventus) – £185,983-a-week
7. Antony (Manchester United) – £200,000-a-week
6. Raphinha (Barcelona) – £209,252-a-week
5. Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain) – £241,058-a-week
4. Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal) – £265,000-a-week
3. Casemiro (Manchester United) – £300,000-a-week
2. Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) – £348,697-a-week
1. Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain) – £943,474-a-week
So. Much. Money.
Seven (yes, SEVEN) of the players in Brazil’s World Cup squad earn £200,000-a-week or more, which is quite frankly ridiculous.
Neymar’s wage is astronomical and he’s the third-highest paid footballer on the planet, behind only Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
The PSG superstar will be desperate to succeed at the 2022 World Cup and win the tournament for the very first time.
But even if he doesn’t get his hands on the Jules Rimet trophy, Neymar should at least equal – or even surpass – Pele’s all-time scoring record.
The 30-year-old superstar also has 54 assists on the international stage, which is even more than Messi has for Argentina (51).
