Neymar produced an outrageous elastico nutmeg on his return to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

It was an eventful night for the Brazilian as PSG narrowly beat Strasbourg 2-1.

Marquinhos had given the home side an early lead after just 14 minutes as they looked to ease to a comfortable victory.

It was anything but.

Marquinhos found the net again six minutes into the second half – however, it was his own net he found to make the score 1-1.

And when – the second for simulation – it looked as though PSG could be dropping points in Ligue 1.

But Kylian Mbappe proved he’s the man of the big occasion during the World Cup and earned all three points for his side.

The World Cup Golden Boot winner was brought down inside the penalty area in the final minutes of injury time and stepped up to score a 96th-minute winner from the spot.

Neymar will be breathing a sigh of relief that his sending off didn’t cost his side.

However, while it was a night Neymar will want to forget, he did produce a moment of pure magic during it.

The 30-year-old went viral for an outrageous elastico nutmeg that embarrassed an opponent in the middle of the pitch.

It was so silky and brought back memories of watching a prime Ronaldinho.

Incredible.

Galtier: Neymar’s sending off was ‘frustration’

After the match, PSG boss Christophe Galtier admitted Neymar’s sending off was down to frustration.

“Neymar alternated the game between ups and downs. I can understand that there is anger in him, he really wanted to play the next two games,” Galtier said.

“As much as I can understand the simulation, he deserves the yellow [card], a few minutes before he suffers a bad foul and his first yellow is very severe compared to the number of fouls suffered by Ney.

“Strasbourg is a team that plays well, but also gives off a lot of strength and power. There was a lot of impact in this match.

“I regret that the excess of commitment was not sanctioned more harshly for certain players. It could have generated a little frustration for Ney.”
