The France Football Federation’s Federal Disciplinary Commission has officially issued a one-match suspension to Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar for the upcoming 2021 Coupe de France final, the committee announced on Friday.

Neymar earned a yellow card during the late stages of PSG’s Coupe de France semifinal win against Montpellier. The Brazilian forward was already a yellow card away from missing the final, and he earned the crucial caution following a foul minutes after he entered the match as a substitute.

The FFF’s Federal Disciplinary Commission one-match suspension for Neymar will take effect beginning on May 17, which means that the PSG star will go on to miss the domestic cup final against AS Monaco coming two days later.

Overall, this will be the 26th match in all competitions that Neymar will not feature in. From yellow card suspensions to a notable ankle injury, Neymar has once again had difficulty being a regular in PSG’s starting 11.

It remains to be seen whether PSG will go on to appeal this verdict by the FFF’s Federal Disciplinary Commission.
