Neymar: PSG star's response to question about Mbappe relationship after Brazil v Ghana | OneFootball

Neymar and Kylian Mbappe’s relationship has been tested many times over the past couple of seasons.

The duo are two of the biggest superstars in the world and both happen to play for one of Europe’s most successful clubs in Paris Saint-Germain.

Alongside Lionel Messi, they make up part of a lethal attacking trident that usually sweeps all before them domestically whilst pushing for major honours on the European scene.

The sheer quality of the PSG squad means that they are simply a class above every other Ligue 1 rival and regularly dismantle teams come the weekend.

And although that sounds like all sunshine and rainbows, the situation brings with it its own problems when you have characters involved with such enormous egos.

Already this season we’ve seen an on-pitch dispute over who has the right to take penalties for the club.

Meanwhile, we’ve also seen Neymar visibly frustrated with Mbappe overlooking the opportunity to pass to him.

Speaking earlier this month, per The Daily Mail, Mbappe opened up on the pair’s controversial relationship:

“It is my sixth year with Neymar. We have always had a relationship like this, based on respect, sometimes colder and sometimes warmer. I have great respect for him and his influence on the team.

“When you have two players with such a strong character, you have moments like that, but always with respect and in the interest of PSG.”

However, when Neymar was asked on Friday night about his teammate, his response was much more abrupt.

“How is your relationship with Mbappe?” Asked a reporter after Brazil’s 3-0 victory over Ghana.

Neymar responded: “With Kylian, phew, I don’t know.”

It’s tough to say whether Neymar is just fed up with those types of questions or whether he genuinely has no clue where his friendship with Mbappe stands.

But it’s certainly a situation to keep an even closer eye on over the coming months.
