In no uncertain terms, Brazil's Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar Jr has spoken out on social media about his approach to the ankle injury that has jeopardised his further participation at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

While news of Neymar Jr's ankle injury at the World Cup in Qatar has sent shockwaves through the football world - notably in Brazil - but on Friday the Auriverde star took to Instagram to deliver some epic words of reassurance to all concerned. "The pride and love I feel for wearing the jersey is inexplicable. If God gave me the opportunity to choose a country to be born in, it would be BRAZIL," he wrote after limping off the field in tears in Brazil's 2-0 win over Serbia. "Nothing in my life was given or easy, I always had to run after my dreams and my goals. Never wishing ill for anyone but helping those in need. Today became one of the most difficult moments of my career ... and again in a world cup 😞." A statement from Brazil's team doctor, who confirmed that the star is suffering from "ligament damage", suggested that Neymar might not feature again in the group stage, and Neymar's response was nothing short of Biblical.

"I have an injury yes, it's boring, it will hurt but I'm sure I will have the chance to return because I will do everything possible to help my country, my teammates and myself. A Long time to wait for the enemy to take me down like this? NEVER! I am SON OF THE GOD OF THE IMPOSSIBLE and my FAITH is unending 🙏."
