Former Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has revealed his frustrations with the French club in a new tell-all interview with Globo.

Holding nothing back, the Brazilian claims both he and former club team-mate Lionel Messi experienced an unwelcome environment in the capital which eventually led to their double departure.

Neymar initially joined PSG from Barcelona for a world record fee of €222m but opted to leave for Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal, while Messi departed for MLS club Inter Miami.

“I was very happy for the year he (Messi) had, but at the same time very sad, because he lived both sides of the coin,” revealed Neymar to Globo Esporte.

“He went to heaven with the Argentina national team, he won everything in recent years.

“[But] with Paris, he lived hell, we lived through hell, both he and I.

“We get upset, because we’re not there for nothing, we’re there to do our best, to be champions, to try to make history, that’s why we went back to playing together, we got together there so that we could make history. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it.”
