Ligue 1 has continued to grow in statue over the last decade or so and emerge as one of the biggest football leagues that European and world football has to offer.

LOSC Lille’s recent championship win will have been welcomed as something that provided a bit of life, however it is undeniable that the overall growth obtained by the division has been down to what Paris Saint-Germain have provided and why so many use Max Free Bets on the action that takes place on the pitch in France.

Of course, the Qatari ownership and leadership of the club from figures such as Nasser Al-Khelaifi has helped take them to the upper echelons of world football, but he has also been able to convince a number of players to join him in the French capital and help PSG become the team that they are today.

Footballers such as Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe are just amongst the plethora of stars to make their way and play in Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes stadium, but recent news to have emerged could see PSG and potentially the league lose both of them in a nightmare situation for Al-Khelaifi.

It has recently been claimed that Neymar Jr would be allowed to leave PSG if Kylian Mbappe decides to reject a new contract that is offered to him.

It is understood that the Brazilian superstar could seek a transfer elsewhere if his strike partner decided he wanted to leave the club for a new challenge.

The club are not thought to be too concerned with the situation at the moment as they believe their French hotshot – who is currently leading the line for his nation at the UEFA 2020 European Championships – will sign a new contract and reject the glancing eyes from clubs such as Real Madrid and Liverpool who have continually been linked with him.

However, reports from AS have now stated that if PSG’s confidence in a new deal does not come to fruition and Mbappe wants out, the former FC Barcelona forward can also look to do the same.

Of course, players with their stature will likely be highly coveted if they were to become available, which could be a huge loss to Ligue 1 and their continued emergence as a top football league.

Neymar Jr has been continually attracting interest from Spain with former club, FC Barcelona, and their fierce rivals, Real Madrid, both thought to be keen on the Brazil international.

However, with both clubs in dire financial positions, a move would seem unlikely at the moment.
