So, what about the individuals who played in this excellent3-1 victory against relegation rivals?
Well, a clear man of the match.
Step forward Kieran Trippier (9.5), he has been excellent ever since arriving and this his best performance so far, crowned by a superb free-kick to settle any nerves.
One other stand out and no surprise to see Allan Saint-Maximin (9.0) rated so highly by fans after Tuesday night. Created the key second NUFC goal and also made great opportunities for Murphy and Joelinton. Everton had three or four players focused on ASM every time he got the ball.
Taking third spot is debut making Matt Targett (7.9), he did very well both in attack and defence.
A night when everybody contributed and five other NUFC starters scored higher than 7.0.
Arguably Ryan Fraser’s (7.5) best game so far and he got in the box to score that key second goal. Whilst Joe Willock (7.4) really lifted his levels, got through so much work and constantly pressed high up the pitch.
Jonjo Shelvey (7.3) appears to have reacted positively to the activity in the transfer market and put in one of his better shifts, whilst Jamaal Lascelles (7.3) had the odd nervy rash moment but came through with a really good second half performance.
As for Joelinton (7.2), another non-stop display in midfield, if only he could finish…
Looking at the very lowest rating, Chris Wood (6.0) put in the graft yet again and played his part, wasted a great heading opportunity and needs a goal to settle him down and give confidence.
