Newcastle unveil September's Player of the Month | OneFootball

Newcastle have named Anthony Gordon as the club’s Player of the Month for September.

Gordon capped off a stellar month with a goal and assist in the landmark 8-0 win for Eddie Howe’s side at Sheffield United.

The winger also helped the Magpies earn a hard-fought point at Milan on their long-awaited return to the Champions League.

“We knew Milan was going to be a tough game in the San Siro but we put in a good performance and got a well-earned point which was great to get off the mark with,” said Gordon.

“It was a big game but they’re the games that you want to play in and now it’s done, we move onto the next one in the group.

“The Sheffield United game is the stand-out one from the month because of the team performance.

“It was great to get on the scoresheet but it was even more special that we had different scorers and put in a fantastic performance.”

Newcastle return to Champions League action on Wednesday as they entertain Paris Saint-Germain in their second Group F outing.
