Newcastle United’s ‘Request Was Too High’ For Club To Sign Star | OneFootball

Charlotte FC have pulled out of talks with Newcastle United regarding Miguel Almiron as the Magpies’ ‘request was too high’, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Paraguay international joined the Premier League side from MLS club Atlanta United back in 2019.

He played 70 matches for the American side and contributed to more than 40 goals directly in his time with Atlanta United.

Former Aston Villa and Leicester City boss Dean Smith is currently the Charlotte FC boss and he has been keen on the Newcastle star.

Even though the Magpies are open to letting the 30-year-old attacker go, they have a price in mind.

And despite negotiations, the clubs could not agree on a fee to do the deal and now the MLS side have left the talks.

It has been suggested that Charlotte FC regarded Newcastle’s asking price to for Almiron as ‘too high’.

With the transfer window set to close by the end of this month, it remains to be seen if the Magpies will be approached by any other club for Almiron.
