Newcastle United sign former Manchester United defender Mannion

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this evening.
The 29-year-old centre-back joins Newcastle United after leaving former club Manchester United earlier this summer. Mannion spent four years with The Red Devils in which she made more than 50 appearances for the club in all competitions. The defender was an Adobe Women’s FA Cup winner with Manchester United in 2023/2024.
Mannion has also turned out for Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Manchester City in her career to date.
On the international stage, Mannion represented England at various youth levels before switching her allegiances to the Republic of Ireland. She has been capped by The Girls In Green on 16 occasions while she has scored one goal.
After joining Newcastle United, Mannion said “It feels so good to be part of the Club. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in and trying to hit the ground running.
“It is clear to everybody the direction that this club is going in, it’s really exciting to be a part of.”
Mannion is Newcastle United’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
