Newcastle United set to sign Real Madrid target | OneFootball

According to MARCA, Newcastle United are ‘very close’ to signing Celta Vigo’s attacking midfielder Gabri Veiga, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish-based outlet believe Veiga has a release clause of €30m, which interestingly aligns exactly with his market value according to Transfermarkt.

As such, the 21-year-old represents fantastic value for the North East club, who recently secured qualification to the Champions League ahead of next season, following a goalless draw versus Leicester City last month.

Veiga, who is an Under-21 international for Spain, has scored nine goals in LaLiga this term whilst providing four assists in 35 appearances.

His side sit one point above the relegation zone with their final match of the campaign coming against the league-champions Barcelona this Sunday at the Estadio de Balaídos.

Due to Os Celestes’s crucial upcoming fixture this weekend, it appears any forthcoming move for Veiga won’t occur until next week.
