Newcastle United parts ways with Castore amid fan complaints | OneFootball

Newcastle United have officially cut ties with kit manufacturer Castore following a barrage of complaints from disgruntled supporters.

According to the Telegraph, the club terminated its partnership with Castore due to widespread grievances concerning poor customer service, delivery delays, product quality issues and stock shortages at stores in the city.

The club’s decision to sever the deal brokered in 2021 under former owner Mike Ashley was influenced by the detrimental impact these issues were having on the club’s image.

Aston Villa, another Premier League club with Castore kits, have also experienced complaints from their men’s and women’s teams regarding the quality of their shirts.

However, it is worth noting that no grievances were reported by Newcastle players regarding the quality or reliability of their kit supplied by Castore since the partnership’s inception.

The original contract with Castore was to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season, but they have terminated it early.

Newcastle will now have German sportswear giant adidas as their new kit supplier starting from next season.

The transition away from Castore was recently revealed in the Amazon Prime documentary ‘We Are Newcastle United’.

The picture captured a pivotal board meeting between Newcastle officials and adidas executives in Germany.

Sources close to the matter have disclosed that the adidas deal offers more financial benefits, with an estimated annual value of £40 million.

It ensures more robust supply chains and stringent quality control measures.

Adidas holds a special place in the hearts of Newcastle supporters.

The brand was associated with the club during its most glorious eras under the management of Kevin Keegan and Sir Bobby Robson.

Villa may be considering a similar move, given that club co-owner Nassef Sawiris has a stake in adidas.
