Newcastle United are said to be interested in signing Sassuolo star Gianluca Scamacca this summer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that while Napoli have been in touch with Sassuolo regarding a move for Scamacca and they see him as a replacement for Victor Osimhen, other clubs are also interested.
It is also stated that the player is seeing an opportunity at Inter slip away, Napoli are leading the race for him in Italy. Earlier, it was perceived that the race for the Italian would be a Milan derby. But now, potential options are also appearing in England and Newcastle are also interested in the ex-Roma youngster.
In the enquiries that Napoli have conducted, Aurelio de Laurentiis ascertained that a fee of around €45 million would be enough to sign the Italian. But as things stand, Newcastle could be willing to offer more than €50 million for Scamacca in the summer even though the striker prefers to stay in Italy.
