Calciomercato has recently reported that Newcastle United have launched a move for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic. However, it has been revealed that the Croat midfielder doesn’t fancy a switch to join the Magpies which could make it difficult for the Tyneside outfit to land him.

Brozovic’s Decent Run Of Form In Italian Football

The 29-year-old is having a solid campaign at San Siro after putting in a handful of commanding performances at the heart of Inter’s midfield. Brozovic has banged in one goal and grabbed two assists in 19 matches for the Italian outfit this season in multiple competitions.

The Zagreb-born talent has proven himself to be a valuable contributor for Inter Milan as he is averaging 1.7 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 0.8 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate when interchanging possession with his teammates from midfield, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 92.3% in the Italian top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Is Brozovic A Good Fit For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?

Brozovic can get stuck with a few crunching tackles to earn possession back for his side at the centre of the park. He usually clears his lines when needed and is not shy of having a strike at goal from long range. The Croatia international can even create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. He is even proficient at making a few intelligent runs with the ball in the opposition half.

A midfielder of Brozovic‘s skill set would be an excellent addition to Newcastle United‘s squad. Even though the Magpies have the finances to pull off a deal for the Croatia talent, Eddie Howe could struggle to lure him to St. James’ Park if the player doesn’t agree to such a move.

All in all, Brozovic will be an ideal fit for the Tyneside giants as he has the quality to help them get out of relegation trouble this season. Therefore, Howe should try everything in his power to try and convince the talented midfield ace to seal a move to England this January.
