The Newcastle United squad flew off to Austria on Monday morning.
The club confirming the trip on social media, a pre-season training camp.
The squad heading off before then coming back at the end of the week to the UK in time for Saturday’s friendly at Celtic.
On Saturday, the club reported on a behind closed doors friendly against Carlisle, which NUFC had won 4-0.
A different eleven was used each half and as well as some under 21 players, most of the first team squad getting 45 minutes on the pitch.
However, a number of players still missing, mainly those who played for their countries this summer.
With their confirmation of the flight to Austria this morning, the club posted photos of a number of players as they prepared to board the plane, as well as Will Osula and Harvey Barnes who we already knew were back for pre-season, we also saw Dan Burn, Bruno and Anthony Gordon for the first time.
Now just after 4pm, the club have put us out of our misery, releasing another couple of photos of players on the pre-season trip. Arguably saving the best until last, Sandro Tonali AND Alexander Isak now confirmed as on the pre-season trip to Austria.
The Mag report – 14 July 2025:
The Newcastle United squad are now on their way to Seefeld.
The club confirming the players have flown off on Monday morning for a training camp ahead of facing Celtic on Saturday.
A beautiful part of Austria, Seefeld is a village in Tyrol, a western Austrian state in the Alps.
Newcastle United having already announced six pre-season friendlies (to be played in front of fans) starting with that one at Celtic.
Newcastle having defeated Carlisle 4-0 on Saturday at the NUFC training ground in a behind closed doors match.
No news yet of whether one or more friendlies will be added in Austria.
It is reported elsewhere that this is claimed to be a five day training camp, no mention by Newcastle United of how long they have gone for to Seefeld.
Seefeld is regularly used by various European clubs for such camps, with Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir there last week.
The Seefeld.com site (‘Seefeld.com is the official website for Seefeld in Tyrol, Austria. It provides information and resources for visitors planning a trip to the area’) that last week revealed the Newcastle United visit:
