In a recent report, Sport1 claimed that Newcastle United are facing stiff competition for Hoffenheim left-back David Raum this summer. It has been mentioned that the Magpies will have to rival Manchester United and West Ham United in pursuit of the German defender in this off-season.

The 24-year-old had an excellent campaign in Germany recently as he was responsible for performing at a high level on the left side of Hoffenheim’s defence. Raum scored three goals and secured 13 assists in 35 matches for the German club last season in various competitions.

Is Raum A Good Option For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?

Raum is a solid tackler of the ball and usually works hard to keep things tidy on the defensive end of the field. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and can also create a handful of promising chances for his teammates in the final third.

The German sensation can even chip in by netting the odd goal from time to time. Raum is primarily a left-back but can also operate as a winger on either flank when his manager needs him to do so.
