Newcastle United close to wrap up deal for France striker

According to rumours Marcus Thuram could be Newcastle’s first acquisition of the January transfer window.

A deal between PIF and Gladbach for the striker is reportedly close to being “wrapped up.”

Newcastle and Gladbach have spoken about the cost of the transfer. Gladbach wants close to €12million (£10.5 million) for the forward, given that his contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Newcastle management are only willing to pay under £10million but the report suggest that an agreement should be reached in the next few days.

Eddie Howe is keen to add another attacker to his team with Chris Wood’s future up in the air and Marcus Thuram ticks all the boxes, including the cheap price and low risk.
