In a recent tweet, Tutto Juve journalist Mirko Di Natale claimed that Newcastle United are among the clubs hoping to sign Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Georgiy Sudakov. It has been revealed that the Magpies could face competition in the form of Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to land the Ukrainian attacker.

Sudakov’s Impressive Rise At Shakhtar

The 21-year-old has caught the eye at times with his performances for Shakhtar during this campaign. Sudakov has participated in 24 matches for his current employers this season, finding the back of the net on five occasions and picking up two assists in multiple competitions.

The Ukrainian sensation has managed to prove his worth at times in the final third but needs to find a way to be more productive in front of the opponent’s goal. Still, there is no denying that he is a prospect to watch out for in the future.

His current deal at Shakhtar will expire at the end of 2028 which would make it difficult for Newcastle to sign him on the cheap in the summer transfer period.

Is Sudakov A Good Fit For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?

Sudakov is a decent dribbler with the ball and can cause a few problems for his marker in the opponent’s half. He can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range. The talented playmaker can even engineer some promising chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field. He mainly functions in the number ten position but can also operate as a left-sided wide player if told to do so by his manager.

We can expect Sudakov to add more firepower to Newcastle‘s frontline in the long run. He has the potential to become a success story at St. James’ Park as long as Eddie Howe is willing to be patient with his progress.

With all things considered, Sudakov would be a great fit for the Magpies’ needs in the long term. Thus the Tyneside club should focus on trying everything they can to lure him to English football when the transfer window commences later this summer. However, only time will tell whether Sudakov is good enough to cope with the physical side and high intensity of English football.
