Newcastle United approach for Davide Frattesi turned down – Report | OneFootball

It has now been reported in Italy that Newcastle United have seen an approach for Davide Frattesi turned down.

Gazzetta dello Sport saying that Inter Milan have knocked back United.

Midfielder Davide Frattesi is an international teammate of Sandro Tonali’s and has had an eventful time with Inter Milan.

Inter signed the Italian international from Sassuolo for a reported £25m and in his two seasons at the San Siro he has made plenty of appearances but not many starts.

Davide Frattesi making 60 Serie A appearances but only 15 of them as a starter.

In the 2023/24 season it was only six Serie A starts and 26 sub appearances as he contributed six league goals and three assists as Inter Milan topped Serie A.

This past season it was nine Serie A starts and 19 sub appearances, David Frattesi scoring five league goals and getting one assist.

The midfielder did though feature quite heavily in Inter Milan’s Champions League campaign,, scoring two goals as he made 13 appearances, four of them as a starter.

As with all transfer stories, you never know how much, if any, substance to this report. However, Davide Frattesi would be a very credible transfer target and quite possibly one that could be landed at a fairly reasonable transfer fee, if the 25 year old wanted the move and Inter persuaded to let him go.
