Taylor Harwood-Bellis is of growing interest to a series of Premier League clubs including Newcastle United, following a successful loan spell at Turf Moor.

The 21 year-old, who has made eight senior appearances for Manchester City, is entering the final year of his current contract at the Etihad Stadium and spent the 2022/23 campaign on-loan at Burnley.

Harwood-Bellis was part of Vincent Kompany’s Burnley team which emphatically bounced back to the top-flight at the first attempt, amassing an incredible 101 points on route to Premier League promotion.

The defender, who has had previous loan spells at Blackburn, Stoke City and at RSC Anderlecht with Kompany, made 35 appearances for the Clarets this season.

Harwood-Bellis made 32 Sky Bet Championship appearances, with the Stockport-born centre-back also involved in Burnley’s Carabao Cup and FA Cup runs.

Burnley are reportedly one of four teams interested in signing Harwood-Bellis this summer, with the Clarets “ready” to try and sign the 21-year old permanently, according to Football Insider.

Despite former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany’s admiration for the defender, Burnley look set to face competition for the signature of the centre-back.

Football Insider claim that Newcastle United are “plotting” a summer move for Harwood-Bellis, as Eddie Howe prepares to strengthen his squad after qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Fellow Premier League clubs West Ham and Fulham are also reportedly interested in the defender, with Marco Silva’s Fulham have previously signed young defender Tosin Adarabioyo from Manchester City in 2020.

Harwood-Bellis made his Manchester City senior debut against Preston North End in 2019, having been with the Sky Blues since the age of six.

The defender has also featured in the UEFA Champions League for City, playing against Dinamo Zagreb in December 2019.
