Group F. The ‘Group of Death’. That’s where all the action is happening tonight.
The group containing PSG, Milan, Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund is finely balanced going into the final two games of the group stage with all four teams still in with a chance of qualifying.
Newcastle were the team looking the most unlikely to progress into the knockout rounds heading into their daunting trip to Paris tonight but … the cat have been firmly set amongst the pigeons.
Tino Livramento danced through three PSG defenders before setting up Miguel Almirón for an effort from outside the box, Gianluigi Donnarumma was equal to the attempt but the ball fell to Alexander Isak to poke home from six yards out after 24 minutes.
If the result remains the same, Newcastle would jump above PSG into second place leaving Luis Enrique’s side at risk of elimination.
