Newcastle table €41m offer for Valencia star | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Valencia have received a big-money offer from Newcastle United, for a leading member of the club’s squad.

That’s according to COPE, who point towards Giorgi Mamardashvili as the player in question.

Mamardashvili, for his part, is fresh off another stellar campaign between the posts for the aforementioned Valencia.

Across starts in all but one of Los Che’s La Liga outings, the Georgian shone bright, amid the widespread consensus that he has now developed into one of Spanish football’s standout goalkeepers.

With such stellar exploits, though, comes inevitable outside interest.

Recent weeks have seen it suggested that a whole host of clubs from across the continent are expressing a keen interest in Mamardashvili’s signature with a view to the summer.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, then one such club have taken their interest a step further than the rest, by way of a first formal proposal.

As per the aforementioned COPE:

‘Newcastle, through agent Marian Khadour and the club’s ownership/management, has offered €41M to Valencia for Mamardashvili.’

It is added that the ‘ball is now in Peter Lim’s court’, as the cash-strapped Valencia board no doubt take into serious consideration a sale.
