Newcastle switch priority to Yoane Wissa

Newcastle United have turned their attention to Yoane Wissa after an unsuccessful pursuit of Hugo Ekitiké.

The Magpies were strongly linked to the Eintracht Frankfurt striker and reportedly had a bid rejected before Liverpool stepped up their interest.

In reaction to that, Eddie Howe's side are targeting Brentford's Wissa according to journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The Bees have already turned down Nottingham Forest's apparent £25 million bid for the striker with the west London club hoping for closer to £50 million.

Indeed, Brentford will not be keen to sell their star player especially if Manchester United are able to finally pry Bryan Mbeumo away from the Gtech.
