Newcastle are set to go into lockdown following the coronavirus pandemic that has swept across the globe.

The Magpies were preparing to take on Sheffield United this weekend but that game has now been postponed, as has every other match in the Premier League until April 4.

But despite no current squad members testing positive for Covid-19, the Newcastle Chronicle have reported that Steve Bruce’s side will go into lockdown soon.

It is just a precautionary measure and we have already seen a number of Premier League clubs do something similar over the past few days.
