Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka has reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery from injury and could be out until December.
Dúbravka underwent surgery on a heel injury at the end of August and is yet to feature for the Magpies this season.
According to The Times, the Slovakian shot-stopper’s moon boot was removed this week but the club’s medical staff were disappointed by how little the heel has healed.
And after he was only initially expected to be out for around six weeks, it could now be the end of the year before he is back in action.
Dúbravka made more saves than any other Premier League goalkeeper last season and had previously gone two-and-a-half years without missing a Premier League match.
But it looks like Karl Darlow and Mark Gillespie will now continue to deputise in the 31-year-old’s absence.
