Newcastle fullback Kieran Trippier says Manchester City offer the standards they must meet.
Trippier gave an honest assessment of the side's performance against City but declared he wants to reach similar heights as the champions at Newcastle. The Magpies were walloped 5-0 last weekend, managing just 29% possession against Pep Guardiola's star-studded outfit.
Before the clash against Arsenal, Trippier - who graduated from City's academy - reflected on the defeat.
"It shows what Man City can do to teams," he said. “When you come to places like this, you're rarely going to see the ball which is how you keep your shape, how you are as a unit.
"This is Man City, they have a great manager, great players but if you look at Man City now, this is where I want to be. I want to be reaching the levels Man City are with Newcastle, it's about building and gradually we will get there but it's about being patient."
