The Magpies saw two wide men depart last summer with Elliott Anderson’s move to Nottingham Forest and Yankuba Minteh joining Brighton.

But any potential signings this winter will see similar sales at the end of this season due to their need to satisfy the Premier League’s PSR.

Established starters Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimarães or Alexander Isak could be sacrificed with the trio still attracting interest from other clubs.

Meanwhile Newcastle are expected to extend Sean Longstaff’s contract with the homegrown midfielder currently set to become a free agent in the summer.
