Newcastle United are chasing Brighton's defensive duo Adam Webster and Dan Burn.

The Daily Express says the Magpies have made a late approach to test Brighton's resolve as Eddie Howe eyes more additions to his squad.

Newcastle have already registered their interest in Webster after being impressed by his performances this season.

The centre-back has performed superby in recent weeks upon return from injury and his displays have been noted by England manager Gareth Southgate, who is looking to shape his squad ahead of this year's World Cup in Qatar in December.

Burn, who operates as a left-sided centre-back in Graham Potters' back three, has also made a seamless transition to Premier League football for the Seagulls after signing from Wigan in 2018.
