Newcastle boss Howe warns Real Madrid off Guimaraes; welcomes Eales

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe insists Bruno Guimaraes is not for sale.

The midfielder is being linked with Real Madrid this week.

Asked if they could lose the Brazilian before the market shut, Howe said: "Absolutely not. We're trying to build a squad to make the club successful over the next few years. We want to enhance the group, not take away our best players. He has been incredible."

Howe was also asked about the arrival of new chief exec Darren Eales.

He added: "I'm very much looking forward to building a relationship with him. Someone of his experience and knowledge will only help us become more efficient in every way of working so I'd like to welcome him to the football club."
