Newcastle United have begun removing the Sports Direct advertising boards around St James' Park.
When United were taken over by the Middle East consortium of PIF, Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers one of the things on their to do list.
Pictures of the process starting were displayed by Wor Flags on Twitter on Monday morning with the signs at the Leazes End going first, reports ChronicleLive.
The same procedure will follow above the East Stand and Gallowgate End while the numerous hoardings were also set to go.
To ensure the signs could be removed though the club had to come to an agreement with Mike Ashley to end Newcastle's association with both the Buckinghamshire billionaire and his business ties.
