Although the mini-tournament had not yet been finalised, plans were reportedly in the final stages, leaving the clubs involved rapidly seeking alternative arrangements for July.

Wolves are still expected to travel to the US but Newcastle are said to be considering other options.

The Magpies are not expected to repeat their warm-weather training exercise in Saudi Arabia from January, due to the searing heat at that time of the year.
