Manchester City face a battle to retain the services of highly-rated Norway international Oscar Bobb this summer, according to a new report.

The 21-year-old has started his pre-season campaign in style for Pep Guardiola’s side, recording a goal and two assists in Manchester City’s narrow 3-4 defeat to Celtic in North Carolina on Tuesday night.

It is a vital period for Bobb, who will be hoping to establish himself at the forefront of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City plans in the coming weeks, whilst the large share of the first-team squad remain away on sanctioned holiday periods.

With a number of Manchester City’s first-team stars expected to miss the pre-season tour entirely, Oscar Bobb could feature in all four of the club’s friendly fixtures in the United States, with clashes against AC Milan, FC Barcelona, and Chelsea all still to come.

But while his performances continue to impress, and guarantees over game time continue to create some doubts in the heads of supporters, interest in the player from clubs across Europe will intensify, with the latest reports naming two clubs hoping to take advantage.

According to the information of GIVEMESPORT, Manchester City have fielded enquiries from clubs interested in landing Oscar Bobb, with clubs keen to discover whether Etihad officials are open to sanctioning an exit on a permanent or loan basis.

Newcastle United are listed as one club interested in the versatile forward, alongside Borussia Dortmund, who are said to have been monitoring the Manchester City Academy graduate’s situation over the past year.

There are said to be a minimum of three clubs circling for Bobb’s services this summer, although the player will be handed the opportunity to earn a leading spot in the City squad for next season if he remains at the club.

From the side of Pep Guardiola, who is said to be a big fan of the player, the City head coach is hoping that the possibility of more extensive amounts of game time will be enough to sway Oscar Bobb to snub proposals.

Oscar Bobb is one of a number of Manchester City Academy graduates hoping to remain with the first-team squad for the upcoming season, and establish themselves firmly at the forefront of Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff’s plans.

Elsewhere, James McAtee has returned from his two-season loan spell with Sheffield United, receiving high praise from Pep Guardiola and also indicating in a recent interview that he intends to stay at the Etihad Stadium this season and bide his time for opportunities.

Rico Lewis is another name hoping to increase his own chances in the first-team system, whilst stating during a recent conversation with reporters in the United States that he feels as though his future could lie in midfield for Manchester City.
