Newcastle United are looking to sign a new left-back and Fulham’s Antonee Robinson appears to be top of Eddie Howe’s wishlist.

The signing of a left-back is a top priority for the Magpies boss, who is also interested in Arsenal and Scotland defender Kieran Tierney.

Tierney looked like he was the standout option having lost his place in the Gunners’ starting XI to Oleksandr Zinchenko, who joined the club from Manchester City for £32million last summer.

Arsenal are believed to be demanding at least £30m for the Scottish international, which could be putting Newcastle off.

Another left-sided defender the Geordies are reportedly interested in is AC Milan star Theo Hernandez.

After agreeing a deal to sign his teammate Sandro Tonali, Newcastle will look to continue their raid of Serie A by signing Hernandez and Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

It is unclear how much the former would cost, with Chiesa expected to be valued in the region of €60m by Juventus, with Liverpool and Arsenal also said to be keen.

With Howe looking to bring in a new first-choice left-back, Dan Burn is expected to move back into a central role and will likely become Sven Botman’s back-up.

Meanwhile, Matt Targett will probably be sold, as confirmed by Sky Sports correspondent Pete Graves.

“At left-back, I know they’ve been linked with AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez,” he said.

“If they signed someone of his experience, they would have to let Matt Targett leave.”

A name who has been in the mix for a while now is Antonee Robinson, and Standard Sport claim Fulham want £35m for the American international.

It is said that the Cottagers would be ‘willing’ to let the 25-year-old leave this summer, but only if their valuation is met.

Their asking price seems rather high given the fact Robinson is out of contract next summer and ‘is refusing to sign a new deal’ at Craven Cottage.

Manchester City and AC Milan have ‘previously expressed an interest’ but it is Newcastle and Marseille who are ‘actively pursuing’ the player.

Fulham have identified Fiorentina defender Igor as a potential replacement for Robinson, the report states.

Many Fulham stars are expected to leave this summer. Joao Palhinha is attracting interest from West Ham but it is believed Marco Silva’s side want £90m for the defensive midfielder.

Meanwhile, Tosin Adarabioyo has ‘refused’ to extend his contract and is attracting interest from Tottenham, Monaco and Rennes.

Willian is another player linked with an exit as he is ‘unimpressed’ with the club’s one-year contract offer. The Brazilian is now ‘assessing his options’.
