‘Ruud awakening for Leicester and their new gaffer.

A first half where we could have scored 5 and a second where we might have got 10.

We’ll have to settle for just the 4-0 victory.

Biggest win of the season and most complete performance.

The first two goals came from excellent set piece routines.

Once we’d got the 4th, Leicester completely packed it in and it’s just a shame we couldn’t have added a bit more onto our goal difference.

That’s match one of a stretch of winnable games.

This is the standard to hit against teams in the bottom half.

If we can continue to reach it, it’ll be a very Merry Christmas period.’

Mark Jankowski:

‘Another game and another excellent performance from Lewis Hall.

Leicester tried to play tight from the start but it didn’t take long for the cracks to appear and a well worked set piece finally put us ahead.

Isak spurned a golden chance to double the lead before half-time and there was still an element of tension at 1-0.

That tension quickly disappeared after the break with two quickfire goals as our intensity blew Leicester away.

Murphy added a 4th as the half wore on.

The only black mark on the day was a yellow for Joelinton to earn a 1 match ban.

A big week ahead, let’s hope we finally show some consistency.’

‘You can only beat the team in front of you and oh how we did that today. Forget about how poor Leicester were.

I thought Isak was unplayable at times today, and had he been as clinical as he usually is, he could have had a few more than his single goal.

Great to score 4, that’s 9 goals in the last 3 games and that’s without being back to our best finishing… yet!

Let’s take all the positives out of this game into Wednesday night, bring on Brentford.’

I’m not a great fan of Murphy but credit where it’s due.

This will mean nothing if we go into our next league game with anything less than the same application we saw today.

In the meantime, let’s now focus on beating Brentford and getting into the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.’

‘A much needed tonic!

It’s a lift for team, manager, fans, and club amid a swirl of claims that things aren’t right behind the scenes.

It was all smiles at full time as Howe oversaw this victory over struggling Leicester City.

There was a sense that we really HAD to get the win today – and the players duly delivered.

Missed chances initially looked like they were going to cost us but Murphy got the breakthrough – and a brace to see off some of his detractors.

It was also nice to see Bruno get himself a goal.

It’s a strange old season, and I suspect ups and downs all the way to May, so let’s celebrate this one.

The perfect way to bounce back from Brentford, and get ready for the cup game – against…(you’ve guessed it)….Brentford.’

The lads looked great from about ten minutes onwards.

Hopefully this is just what we need to push on.

Shame we didn’t score a few more but we never looked like conceding either.

The confidence from this win and performance might just get the juggernaut moving again.’

‘Somebody’s been due a hiding from us and it was a delight to see Leicester absolutely ripped to shreds at St James’ Park this afternoon.

I’d rather focus on the positives, but let’s be honest, it could (and should) have been six or seven.

Murpho should have a hat-trick and Isak missed a sitter again. Some of his footwork was sublime and I’m torn between Sandro and Lewis Hall for my MOTM award.

All the pre-match talk about the East Midlanders’ new manager bounce and Jamie Vardy returning to haunt us, proved totally unfounded, the 37 year old substituted on the hour and despite Nistlerooy beating Eddie Howe in the dress stakes on the touchline, he was well and truly outwitted on the pitch.’

‘Back with a bang!!!!!

I don’t know what’s worse, last week’s performance, or today’s, knowing that we can play like we did today after last weekend’s gubbins.

The high press seemed to turn up today after going on holiday at Brentford. Who’ve we got in the league Cup midweek and then a trip to Ipswich who have yet to win at home in the league all season.

So absolutely no reason why we cannot kick on from here and leave the inconsistent Newcastle United behind (I am going to regret saying that aren’t I…).’
