Oh, how we needed this.

After failing to overpower so-called lesser teams, United made a hatful of chances (with plenty of help from the slapdash and insipid Foxes).

We took four of them.

Although Alexander Isak and Joacob Murphy could/should each have had a hat-trick.

A willingness to shoot from distance was in sharp contrast to the displays at Selhurst Park and the Gtech.

With the points secure, Trippier replaced Livramento, Longstaff replaced Guimaraes and Barnes replaced Murphy for the final half hour.

As preparation for Brentford on Wednesday, this could hardly have gone better.

Isak was spared the final 20+ minutes, giving Osula what could prove to be a valuable run-out, while Gordon looked back to his best.

Big Joe’s ridiculous (woeful from the referee) fifth yellow card, one of the few minuses, means he will miss the next Premier League game at Portman Road.

Little Joe might be fit to start, having replaced Gordon for the final few minutes.

Dubravka made only one proper save.
