Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney in recent days, and he ‘would be a good option’ for Eddie Howe’s charges, journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.
The 25-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium this season following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko and could seek pastures new in the summer as a result.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle are ‘closely monitoring’ Tierney’s situation at Arsenal as they are in the market for a new left-back ahead of next term.

The Scotland international moved to the Gunners from his boyhood club Celtic back in 2019 in a £25 million deal.
Tierney penned a new five-year contract worth £110,000-per-week in 2021, but his injury issues and Zinchenko’s impressive form have seen him become a fringe player under Mikel Arteta.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have been defying the odds of late despite playing 6 foot 6 centre-half Dan Burn at left-back.
Howe may understandably not view Burn as a long-term solution in that area of the pitch, though, and Tierney could be the latest player to join Newcastle’s revolution.
The report states that Tierney is valued at £30 million by Arsenal, and Jones has disclosed that it ‘absolutely make sense’ for Newcastle to have him on their radar.
In an interview with GMS, he said: “I think he would be a good option if they look to strengthen there. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Tierney at the end of the season.
“So, if there is a path for him to go to another club, then it absolutely makes sense that Newcastle will be one of the clubs talking to him.”
Tierney has been a solid performer for Arsenal throughout his time at the club, racking up 18 goal contributions in 112 appearances while also claiming one FA Cup crown.
However, the attack-minded full-back has also missed 48 games through injury for the north London outfit and has become a back-up option this season.
To date, Tierney has started just four Premier League fixtures for Arsenal throughout 2022/23, although he has featured from the off in all of their Europa League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup encounters.
